i am directed by ur secretary shortt to refer to

5

0 20/21 previous correspondence and your note of the 3rd instant

on the subject of the naturalization of Mr N.S. Moses and

to say for the information of Hr Secretary Churchill that this man's certificate of naturalization (transmitted with your note of the 19th August last) has been registered;

but as it is clear that the two children, whose names are

included therein, were natural-born British subjects

before the grant of the certificate by reason of their birth in Hong Kong, their names have not been inserted in

the Naturalization Register. In this connection I am to

invite reference to oorrespondence which took place

between the Departments in the case of Mr John Johnson (naturalized in Trinidad) in which a similar situation

arose.
